I studied Equine Sports Massage for two years to attain a distinction in the ICAT Diploma in April 2006.

I am very interested in horse biomechanics and with a background in classical dressage, I am able to combine my knowledge of lateral movements with stretches to help build good posture and correct musculature in horses.

Horses benefit from sports massage on many levels:

  • Competing horses, like human athletes,  get lactic acid build up and become sore and tight. Massage removes these toxins from the body systems restoring the muscle back to a healthy state.

  • Posture can be improved by releasing tight muscles and can encourage small postural muscles to work.

  • Passive stretches allow joints to have their full range of movement restored.

  • A relaxed body is a relaxed mind.

Some medical conditions benefit from regular massage as circulation and lymph drainage are improved.

Equine Massage

The lovely Louise gave my boy a sports massage tonight. Thought he deserved a once over seeing as the silly oath had a topple last week. Highly recommend Louise for Equine Sports Massage. Milo says thank you too!
